The latter part of the seventies was spent in India, where the light and its impact on nature really became an inspiration.
"It has never ceased to fascinate me how colour changes with light and how different places have such varied qualities of light."
Subsequently he has travelled to many parts of the world and continues to draw inspiration from nature and the way it is changed by light.
